“Everyone, gather your troops immediately. Jared will lead the team, and we’ll head to the celestial crystal vein mine together. This time, I’ll be there in person. If Rex dares to fight me over it, I’ll fight him to the end!”
Following Jaime’s orders, the commanders quickly acknowledged and left.
Within minutes, hundreds of soldiers had assembled, along with dozens of foreign officials. Among them was Claude.
Jared wasted no time and led the large group out of the city.
Along the way, they caused many cultivators who were unsure of what was happening to quickly avoid them.
Even the guards at the city gates stepped aside after spotting them from a distance. No one dared to question or inspect.
Who would be foolish enough to challenge the soldiers of Giles Manor? That would be suicide.
While Jared led the large group out of the city, Rex stood in the hall of Buckley Manor, trembling as he stared at Teegan’s lifeless body.
When Niel died, Rex wasn’t as heartbroken because he still had Teegan.
Compared to Niel, Teegan was far more capable and was Rex’s ideal successor.
Niel had been nothing but a troublemaker who wasted time indulging in pleasure. His death was of little consequence.
But now, Teegan was gone too. Both of his sons were dead. Rex found this difficult to accept.
“Mr. Keegan, Jaime has just led hundreds of people out of the city!” the Buckley family butler reported to Rex.
Rex furrowed his brows and gritted his teeth.
“That guy must be heading for the celestial crystal vein mine. Teegan died because of that vein mine. There’s no way I’ll let it fall into Jaime’s hands. Gather the troops immediately. We’re setting off!”
Rex was well aware of the celestial crystal vein mine. Teegan had reported its location before his death.
Now, seeing Jaime suddenly leave the city with troops, Rex quickly pieced together the reason.
It didn’t take long for Rex to gather hundreds of his own men and lead them out of the city with similar momentum.
This development left the cultivators of Beast City utterly baffled.
“What the h*ll is going on? Two of Beast City’s Three Beast Generals have left the city fully armed and with all their troops.”
“I remember that the Three Beast Generals haven’t left Beast City in years. What’s happening today?”
“Something big must be brewing. Beast City is definitely in trouble…”
On the streets, many cultivators whispered among themselves, but no one knew what was truly happening.
After Rex led his troops out of the city, only one of the Three Beast Generals remained in Beast City.
Of course, the movements of Jaime and Rex didn’t escape the notice of Cian.
“General Cian, both Jaime and Rex have left the city, each with all their forces,” one of Cian’s subordinates reported.
“This is strange. What are those two up to? Beast City seems to have been restless these past few days.”
“Captain Ricky was mysteriously killed outside the city, and the Buckley family is holding a funeral. What’s really going on?”
Cian narrowed his sharp, eagle-like eyes, lost in thought.
“General Cian, now that both families have left the city, why don’t we seize the opportunity to take over Beast City? Once we’ve taken control, it won’t be so easy for them to return,” the subordinate suggested.
“Silence. Do you think the lord doesn’t exist? He might not have appeared for many years, but that doesn’t mean he’s gone. I’m not foolish enough to make such a move. I’m content being a general. I don’t aspire to be the lord. Let either of those two take the position if they want it. You, continue gathering intelligence. Observe, but do not interfere or assist either side. Understood?” Cian instructed.
“Understood,” the subordinate replied and nodded before turning to leave.
Cian toyed with the two iron balls in his hands, a faint smile appearing on his lips. “Two fools. Have neither of you ever heard that the third party profits when two parties fight?”
