Upon seeing Jared, Decanus’ eyes narrowed instantly, a chilling glint reflecting in his gaze.
Tennyson rose to his feet and sized up Jared. “So you’re Jared Chance?”
“That’s me. Are you the one who’s offering a hundred thousand celestial crystals for my life?” Jared asked Tennyson.
Tennyson shook his head. “That wasn’t me. You’re not worth a hundred thousand celestial crystals!”
“Am I not worth it?”
Jared’s brow furrowed slightly, then he suddenly swung his sword toward Tennyson.
The Dragonslayer Sword erupted in a brilliant burst of light, illuminating the entire hall as if it were broad daylight!
The reason why Jared took the initiative was simply to gauge Tennyson’s true strength.
“How dare you show such disrespect to my father!”
Off to the side, the diminutive figure of Decanus, who was akin to a child in stature, suddenly let out a furious roar. He charged forward, launching a punch directly at Jared’s sword light.
“You brat, how dare you be disrespectful to Mr. Chance!”
With a thunderous shout, Orion charged straight toward Decanus.
Thud, thud!
Two explosive sounds suddenly rang out, causing Orion and Decanus to simultaneously retreat.
The two individuals were evenly matched in strength.
As the tension between the two escalated, Jared swiftly retreated.
Tennyson was still standing on the stone steps, a faint smile gracing his face. It seemed as though he didn’t regard Jared and his group with any importance at all!
Orion stood next to Jared, his gaze locked fiercely on Decanus. Decanus, too, was staring back at Orion, both of their eyes filled with intense malice.
Tennyson lightly clapped his hands together, smiling as he said, “You’ve got quite the nerve, storming into my domain with just this small group. Are you here to offer up your lives willingly?”
Jared gave a cold chuckle. “Offering my life up? I’m actually here to send you to the afterlife…”
“Is this all the people you’ve got? Call everyone in from outside; I want to see if you’re worth me personally taking action!” Tennyson sneered.
“Just the few of us is enough to bring down your Tenth Hall!” Orion exclaimed loudly.
“What a bold claim!”
Tennyson’s expression stilled, his body instantly transforming into a streak of light before vanishing!
Orion was taken aback, his eyes narrowing in surprise. He swiftly swung his hands forward, conjuring a shield before them.
Bang!
Accompanied by a deafening boom, the shield in front of Orion shattered instantly, sending him flying.
He was at the Top Level Ultimate Realm Level Nine, yet he was forced to retreat with just a single blow!
Orion’s face was pale as traces of blood trickled from the corner of his mouth.
“Are you all right?” Jared asked, looking toward Orion.
Orion nodded. “I’m fine. It’s not going to kill me…”
“It seems you aren’t all that powerful after all…” Jared said to Tennyson. He had discerned Tennyson’s power through that punch.
Since he couldn’t kill someone at the Top Level Ultimate Realm Level Nine with one blow, it meant Tennyson’s cultivation level wasn’t very high either!
At most, he would be at the Immortal Realm Level Three, perhaps even lower.
If that was the case, Jared had absolutely nothing to fear.
“Hmph, I’m more than capable of taking you down with my abilities…”
Tennyson sneered, his fist sweeping toward Jared in a powerful arc. The very air seemed to warp and distort under the force of the blow!
Jared’s eyes narrowed, his Dragonslayer Sword poised for action. Yet, before he could strike, he noticed the eruption of aura from Jaxon beside him. His eyes were filled with ruthless determination as he launched his attack toward Tennyson.
Boom!
Following a loud explosion, a terrifying shockwave rippled outward, sending Jaxon’s body hurtling through the air.
Jared was continuously forced back, but soon he was steadied by a certain force.
Even Jaxon, who had been sent flying, found his body floating in mid-air briefly before he slowly descended.
As it turned out, Yelena had deployed an arcane array, successfully stabilizing Jared and Jaxon.
“You’re no match for Tennyson…”
Jared gazed at Jaxon’s already torn right arm, expressing his deep gratitude.
Jaxon, however, laughed it off nonchalantly and said, “There are some things even this body of mine can’t handle from Tennyson. I wonder, Мг. Chance, could you give me a bit more as a reward?”
