“Father, what on earth is going on?”
Octavion’s face was etched with confusion. He couldn’t comprehend how his father, who was Tennyson and a man of such high pride, had suddenly become a follower of Jared.
Smack!
Unexpectedly, Tennyson suddenly slapped himself.
“Ah, I was indeed overestimating my abilities, daring to oppose Mr. Chance. I’m grateful that Mr. Chance didn’t abandon me. Now, I follow him. You should also show more respect to Mr. Chance in the future!” Tennyson declared.
Octavion was utterly bewildered. He couldn’t comprehend what had happened to his father. Such a proud man, and now look at him.
If Octavion knew that not too long ago, his father was so scared that he lost control of his bodily functions, he would understand.
The current Tennyson truly regretted his actions. If he had taken things seriously from the start and not gone looking for trouble with Jared, none of this would have happened.
“It’s all Talcott from Demon Seal Alliance’s fault. If I ever run into him, I’ll make sure he pays…”
At this moment, the person that Tennyson detested the most was Talcott.
After all, the grudges between the Tenth Hall and Jared originated from the Demon Seal Alliance, and specifically, from Talcott’s very own actions.
Had it not been for Talcott’s relentless pursuit of Jared using some hundred-year offering, Jared would never have ended up in a life-or-death struggle with the Demon Seal Alliance.
So, what if a son was killed? Once he’s dead, he’s dead!
Cultivators at our level could live for thousands of years. There’s never a time when we can’t have more sons!
“Tell me about the Haverford family. Jared said to Tennyson.
Surprisingly, Quenric managed to invite a family expert, and he wasn’t even afraid of Tennyson. This clearly showed that the strength of the Haverford family must surpass that of Tennyson.
“Mr. Chance, I must admit that my knowledge of the Haverford family is somewhat limited. What I do know, however, is that they are a great family within the celestials. Many of their elders hold positions of service in Celestial
Palace. Quenric was assigned to my Tenth Hall by the higher-ups, which is why this guy often disregards my authority as the overlord of Celestial Palace’s Tenth Hall,” Tennyson explained.
Jared slightly furrowed his brows. “The Haverford family is in the Ethereal Realm too?”
“In the Ethereal Realm, it’s merely a branch of the Haverford family. Despite being just a branch, its power is not to be underestimated! The key point is that the Haverford family is in control of the Land of Finale in the Ethereal Realm. Having control over this place is tantamount to having control of the Celestial Stairway…” Tennyson remarked.
“Land of Finale? I thought the Celestial Stairway could randomly appear anywhere?” Jared looked at Octavion in surprise.
Back then, this was exactly what Octavion said to him.
“The Celestial Stairway’s appearance is unpredictable, but eight out of ten times, it manifests in Land of Finale. Based on years of observation, it’s highly likely that the Celestial Stairway will appear in Land of Finale again this year. This place, known as the Land of Finale, was actually formed during the inception of the Ethereal Realm due to a distortion in time and space. Within this realm, it’s free from the constraints of the Heaven and Earth Array, but naturally, it can’t receive the nourishment of the universe either. Essentially, this piece of land existed outside the laws of nature!”
Tennyson proceeded to introduce Land of Finale to Jared.
“Is there really such a wonderful place?” Jared was taken aback. “Why didn’t those celestial cultivators, who were trapped in the Ethereal Realm that day, go to the Land of Finale and then return to the celestial realm?”
Since there was no Heaven and Earth Array to suppress them, they could simply return to the celestial realm.
Upon hearing this, Tennyson immediately burst into laughter. “Mr. Chance,” he said, “In this world, everything has its pros and cons. Although this Land of Finale is not bound by the Heaven and Earth Array, it equally lacks spiritual energy and various resources. Moreover, it’s impossible for it to ascend to the celestial realm. Almost every world gives birth to one or more of these lands like the Land of Finale, their sizes merely differ. These places won’t reveal themselves within the universe, and they certainly won’t connect to other realms! The cultivators of the Ethereal Realm are able to ascend to the celestial realm because there is a pathway linking the two.
However, the Land of Finale is only connected to its own realm. It has no connections to any other realms! So, even without the constraints of the Heaven and Earth Array, the idea that those trapped cultivators from the celestial realm can return through the Land of Finale is simply a madman’s dream. Moreover, how can one survive and cultivate in the Land of Finale, given its complete lack of resources?”
The words of Tennyson once again left Jared feeling immensely enlightened.
