“Things are heating up. We should keep our distance soon. I reckon quite a few aren’t going to survive this.”
Upon witnessing the scene, everyone began to whisper among themselves.
Stefan’s face was a picture of displeasure, his eyes blazing with fury as glared at Wallace.
“Don’t think that just because the Fire Incineration Sect is renowned and is considered the most powerful big sect in Ethereal Realm, you’re invincible. If you don’t want to get yourself killed, stay out of this. I won’t involve you unless you insist on aiding Jared. If that’s the case, don’t blame me for showing no mercy!”
“Enough of the babbling. If you want to fight, than fight. Haven’t you always been arrogant, looking down on everyone?” Wallace had long been displeased with Stefan, and it was about time put the latter in his place.
Wallace wasn’t lying when said wasn’t involved with Jared. The siblings simply found Stefan quite detestable. As the saying went, “The enemy of an enemy is a friend, and they understood this principle very well.”
Suddenly, the tension grew so much that the air began to feel overwhelmingly oppressive.
At that moment, any single movement would cause total chaos to erupt.
Just when everyone was suffocating under the oppressive atmosphere, a peculiar disturbance occurred between heaven and earth.
Mysterious white beams of light enveloped the Land of Finale. The entire dimension of the Land of Finale seemed to be under immense pressure. Everyone felt as if an immeasurable weight was pressing down upon them.
“The Celestial Stairway… The Celestial Stairway has appeared!” someone shouted out loud.
Everyone simultaneously looked up, only to be greeted by the Celestial Stairway slowly emerging from the void, just like a majestic mountain.
Amidst a thunderous rumble, the Celestial Stairway fell heavily to the ground.
The moment it landed, everyone rushed toward it.
The two groups who were at each other’s throats earlier couldn’t care less about their opponents anymore. Instead, they rushed toward the Celestial Stairway.
Jared also moved in a flashed, finding himself in front of the Celestial Stairway.
The Celestial Stairway was incredibly massive, reaching up into the clouds.
There were a total of nine steps, each one topped with a portal of light.
On the first step of the celestial staircase, there was a sentence carved into it, Ascend to Heaven
As marveled at the massive Celestial Stairway, Jared’s expression turned serious. The staircase, exuding an ancient and time-worn aura, was truly awe-inspiring. It was clear that the Celestial Stairway was created either by an immortal of the celestial realm or a high-level cultivator.
In the eyes of these individuals, the cultivators of Ethereal Realm were nothing more than insects or pawns.
At that moment, someone had already grown impatient, rushing toward the Celestial Stairway. However, not many people set foot on the first level of the Celestial Stairway. All of them headed straight for the third level instead.
“Why aren’t these people going to the first step?” Jared asked in utter surprise.
“Jared, they have already conquered the first level of the Celestial Stairway. Each level they’ve passed leaves an imprint on them, a sort of clearance imprint, so they don’t have to start from scratch when they ascend the Celestial Stairway again!”
“You’ve never entered the Celestial Stairway before, so you have to start from the first level. We can’t accompany you either. Once we’ve passed this level, we won’t be able to enter it anymore,” Octavion explained to Jared.
Only then did Jared understand that once had passed a level, there was no way to return. He could only proceed to the next one.
“Don’t worry, the first level is quite simple. With your abilities, you’ll easily get through it. Moreover, the cultivators within the first level aren’t very powerful. They couldn’t possibly cause you any harm!”
