Dexter walked briskly, his expression stern. At that moment, Justin called again, but he simply didn’t have the time to answer, so he hung up immediately.
“Well?” Arnold asked as he opened the car door.
Dexter quickly got into the car. The prolonged tension had left a pressing sensation in his chest, causing him to pause momentarily. It took him a few seconds to regain his composure before he finally said, “Wayne is smart, so I can’t just bluff my way through this. We need to go to the scene.”
Arnold slid into the driver’s seat, immediately making a turn. “That’s even better,” he said. “Mr. Zabinski mentioned to me earlier that he has stationed people all along the route. As soon as you give the word, we can apprehend Wayne!”
Wayne trailed behind them, followed by dozens of cars.
Images of Josie suffering filled Dexter’s mind, causing him to feel irritable and frustrated. “Shake them off,” he commanded.
“Shake who off?”
“Mr. Zabinski’s men. Now is not the time to take action.”
Arnold choked up, clicking his tongue in annoyance. He glanced irritably at the rearview mirror, then slammed his foot on the gas pedal, speeding away. He whisked past Mr. Zabinski’s men, barely passing them by.
Dexter rolled down the car window, allowing the gentle breeze to flow in, which helped to clear his mind. At this moment, in the water dungeon, Josie had already pushed her body to its limits.
She tilted her head back to gaze at the sky, her voice hoarse as she asked, “What time is it?”
The bodyguard didn’t respond to her.
Dawn broke, and it seemed that Arnold didn’t get the response he was hoping for. Otherwise, he would have continued his pursuit.
At that moment, the door suddenly swung open. It was Josephine. She hadn’t slept all night, and her expression was far from pleasant. “Step outside,” she demanded.

The bodyguard was in a bind when suddenly, a voice came through his earpiece. After hearing a few words, he finally left.
Josephine stood towering above, her face etched with sorrow. “Are you satisfied now that you’ve humiliated me?”
Josie’s voice was weak and breathless, “What?”
“He hadn’t yet finalized his divorce with Summer, so there’s no way he could marry me.”
One could envision just how heartbroken this woman must have been when she learned the truth.
Josie gave a bitter smile. “What does it matter? He has many connections. Besides, he’s just committing bigamy. He can just change his identity and marry again, without any fear of legal repercussions.”
Josephine didn’t utter a word. She just looked at Josie coldly.
